How do you fix CD player that won’t read CDs?
Unplug the CD player’s power cord from the outlet for exactly 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back into any outlet. Turn on your CD player and try to play all CDs. If the problem still persists, remove the drive and unplug the power cord from all electrical outlets.

1. The drive absolutely does not show error codes in the device manager.sv, and this is a unique optical drive in each of our systems.
2. Yes, my tip was to do a full firmware update and it seemed to work if the kitchen staff installed (requires reboot). Check for updates.
3. I see “IDE ATA/ATAPI in controllers” in each of our device manager trees. Below I have “Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 family) Ultra Storage Controllers – 27DF”, “Intel(R) 82801GB/GR/GH (ICH7 family) Serial ATA Storage Controller -27C0”, two IDE “Primary Channel” and just ide “secondary channel” Nothing on the RAID.
Some additional information that I didn’t include in my original post. The software I’ve used before (successfully) for recording includes Sonic RecordNow & Data DLA and iTunes definitely records successfully, so I downloaded this free burning program (BurnXP or something similar, can’t remember right now). work too.
Up to a point, I’ve tried burning data to CD/DVD. I recently burned an audio CD (converted to MP3) via WMP and tested it. Successful write (no error message received). but the disc will never play To be/read when I put it back in. I didn’t check this drive specifically, so you can see if the laptop checks it.
I also bought and tried Sony DVD+R media, but this person is also suffering from the same problem.
The last thing I notice about these “fancy” drives is that they have a distinct bar that actually starts with the drive ID. I’m assuming this means that most of the laser is physically burning through the layer being written.
I guess at this point I could just replace the drive and come up with a new one ($30 isn’t that much). p>
For recording, make sure you only use special purpose audio discs.
These vertebrae are labeled as “digital” audio, and I’d say the logos shown

Why does my Philips cdr-775 dont accept the CD-RW?
My amazing Philips CDR-775 does not accept this CD-RW and REC initialization does not work. This misfortune is caused by a tired unit. There is only one solution if you want to solve this problem: replace the laser unit and equalize the REC and ERASE currents for the new laser (a special Philips Place machine was required for this function). This service action is surprisingly expensive.
These functions can beWrite, erase
and overwrite multiple times, and play on
CDRW compatible CD players and
CD recorders after finalizing.
All Philips CD players and recorders with the
label are compatible with CDRW.
To make sure the set works correctly, we recommend that you try only
Philips Audio CDR and Audio Discs CDRW.
Note. Don’t use a specific computer as a CDR or CDRW project
Is there a 1998 Philips CD-R recorder review by Wes Phillips?
The 1998 review of the Philips CD-R recorder falls under this explanation because it is one of the few remaining reviews by Wes Phillips, many of which have yet to be published. Third: self-interest on my part.
Recording is permitted as long as copyright laws or other
rights of third parties are not normally violated.
Why does my Philips DVD player say no disc?
Make sure the blank disc is correctly inserted into the CD slot. If the disc is centered, the DVD player cannot recognize the content and will usually display a “No Disc Errors” message.
In some countries, any use of the Philips CDR
Mini Hi-Fi System as shown or suggested in any form of user manual
